There was never a time when young Bobby Kintz wasn’t by his father’s side. Whether it was at Bob Kintz Menswear on the mountain or later at Tuxedo Inn, Bobby was a constant, unmistakable presence. Since 1965, when Bob Kintz Sr. opened his menswear store in Gadsden, Bobby was right there—his father’s shadow, his biggest fan, and eventually, his partner in purpose.
Bobby wasn’t just a part of the family business—he was the heart of it. As a boy, he followed his dad downtown as business began to boom, and later to the 500 block of Broad Street, where the Tuxedo Inn became a staple of formalwear in Northeast Alabama. Together, father and son helped transform it into the region’s leading destination for tuxedo rentals, prom fittings, and wedding-day style.
But Bobby was more than a clothier—he was a beloved member of the Gadsden community. Full of life, warmth, and humour, Bobby had a way of making everyone feel like family. His personality lit up a room, and his dedication to serving others was felt far beyond the fitting room. Whether he was volunteering his time or simply sharing a laugh with a customer, Bobby left an impression that won’t soon fade.
In the 1970s, Tuxedo Inn became one of the Gadsden Mall’s first stores. When the store moved to Rainbow Drive, Bobby remained devoted to the family legacy—but he also had a vision of his own. With a passion for timeless style and an eye for exceptional design, Bobby stepped into the light. In the summer of 2021, alongside his beloved wife, Tisa, he opened BKintz on Broad Street—a store born not just from experience, but from love. Love for fashion, for family, for the city he called home, and for the people who supported him along the way.
BKintz is more than a menswear store—it is a tribute to generations of craftsmanship, kindness, and community. Today, BKintz is Northeast Alabama’s premier prom and wedding headquarters, offering not only tuxedos but retail suits, sports jackets, and casual attire for men. With free fittings, concierge service, and in-house alterations, we continue to honour the standards set decades ago. Since the beginning, our customers have been our top priority, and thanks to Bobby’s spirit, that commitment is stronger than ever.
